On August 30, 2016, officials from the Stock Control Inspection Unit (UCICE), carried out an on-the-spot inspection at the premises of ‘Zonamerica S.A.’ Free Zone users.
This inspection was conducted under the terms of the Pilot Procedure for Stock Control at Free Zones, established by Customs Resolution 48/2016. This operation allowed for a joint assessment with the companies of the way of working and the appropriate criteria, in order to communicate correctly the information regarding their stocks, to the Uruguay National Customs Directorate (DNA).
This has been a major step for the DNA, since it will make it possible, in the short term, to have online information about the stocks of all the Free Zones users within the country.
