Representatives of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the Ministry of Foreign Relations of Uruguay, signed a Memorandum of Understanding to implement the Container Control Programme in our country.
It is important to note that the Container Control Programme UNODC-WCO has been jointly developed by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and the World Customs Organization.
This is a global Programme, and intends to strengthen the structures and processes that enable the implementation of sustainable laws for States and selected ports, aiming at minimizing the use of maritime containers for illicit drug trafficking and other transnational organized crimes.
